A Parent's View of an Integrated Curriculum: Kindergarten Bear Unit

Our children learn letters, sounds, numbers, counting, and math in two ways: through direct instruction and through instruction as part of a larger study.

In Kindergarten, children study bears around the world. Parents learn what is happening in the classroom through letters home from teachers (in Kindergarten they come home almost weekly), papers, drawings, classroom visits, and what our children tell us.

This is a parent's view of one year's Bear Unit. I am sure much more went on, but this is what I learned about.
