Parking when visiting MCT

Please observe these parking rules when visiting the Parker Damon Building before or during school hours.

- School staff have been issued parking tags. Only cars displaying these tags may park in staff parking. The entire upper parking lot is reserved for staff. In the lower lot, spaces closest to the building are reserved for staff. Spaces #490 through #527 are reserved for Administration Building staff.

- Visitor parking is designated for spots #427 through #448 and #483 through #489. Use these spots when coming to the school before or during the school day.

- If there are no available spots in the designated visitor area, you should park in the junior high lower lot and walk over. If you have something large to drop off, you can unload it on the loading dock, park your car (not by the loading dock!), and then retrieve your item(s).

- Only park in numbered spaces. Do not "create" a spot on grass, next to grass or next to the fenced-in generator. Do not park in handicapped spots unless you have been issued a handicapped sticker or tag. Illegally parked cars have been and will continue to be ticketed.

- The speed limit on the school campus is always 15 MPH.

- Be considerate - the two "5 minute" spots should be used only for quick a 5 minute errand, for instance: picking up a sick child, dropping off a forgotten item. Do not use these spots during morning drop-off or afternoon pick-up &endash; Special Education buses will block the area and cannot be passed.

- The driveway by the "5 minute" and handicapped parking is ONE WAY. (see map)

- Never pass a school bus - either a large yellow standard bus or a special education cab - when the red lights are flashing. Drivers have been and will continue to be issued moving violations. The Acton Police are not issuing warnings. (Violations are mailed if a police car is not present and the bus driver reports the violation.) The cost of this violation is $250 plus an insurance upcharge.

- Never drive on the front circle or the bus driveway between 8:30AM and 4:15PM. Buses or students at recess may be present.

- The "Live Parking" area by the side of the school is for drop off and pick up of students. Please be considerate. Pull your vehicle as far forward as the signs indicate so waiting vehicles can move through quickly. As soon as you drop off or pick up your passenger, drive away so that others may move into your spot.

Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our school campus safe.
